We are delighted to invite you to AS THE CROW FLIES a collaborative Exhibition featuring Artists Caroline McFadden and Susanne Keane showcasing a series of sculptures and paintings. Both artists are members of uachtarARTS and share a deep connection to nature and the landscape of their locality, the essence of which imbues and unifies their respective works.
AS THE CROW FLIES will open on Friday 1st July from 7-9pm with guest speaker Eileen Keane, a published poet, writer and singer-songwriter and practicing psychotherapist who has studied Authentic Movement with Joan Davis. The Exhibition continues until Sunday 10th July, it is open to the public Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm & Sundays 12pm – 5pm. All Welcome!
Caroline McFadden has been studying the discipline of Authentic Movement since 2012. Her nature sculptures arose out of her teacher Joan Davis’s instruction to her students in 2019 to create a representation of their Inner Witness. This process led Caroline to follow the urge to work with her hands, intuitively transforming found nature objects into sculptures which embody a felt sense of her relationship to both her internal and external landscapes, physical, relational, and numinous.
Susanne Keane is an abstract sea/ landscape painter whose atmospheric paintings and drawings take the viewer on a journey through bog and marshes, hilly fields, lakes and the sea. The lay of the land is translated into lines, shapes and patterns. Her palette is vibrant and alluring, thus evoking the sense of wonder and magic we experience when in nature.
