“Soul Purpose”, a solo exhibition by Rebecca Philbin, will open at the Courthouse on October
24 tth at 7pm and runs until November 2 nd .
Rebecca is a Galway native and a member of the uachtarArts Artists group. She holds a B.A.
Hons. Degree in Fine Art from CCAM GMIT 2018. She has partaken in many group exhibitions,
but this is her inaugural solo show. Rebecca draws inspiration from it being innately human to
explore our natural environment looking for existential truths. The themes that interest her are
natural geometry, especially the circle, it being a primordial shape, also cymatics (visual sound),
ancient celtic ways and mythology focusing on the female being. She feels strongly on the
importance of sustainability and preserving ecology. She believes everything is interconnected
and that the natural environment is the basis of all that exists.
Rebecca works in a range of mediums, from ceramics, paint, print and found materials to create
emmotive works with a focus on creation and the human experience. Her works can be seen on

Olga Magliocco will officially launch the exhibition on Friday October 24 th 7-9pm, there will be
refreshments and All are Welcome.
“Soul Purpose” exhibition runs daily until the 2nd of November. Open 10am-5pm Monday-
Saturday and 12-5pm on Sundays. Entry is Free and All are Welcome
